Shamcey Supsup is Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-up

Shamcey Supsup, Philippines representative to the 2011 Miss Universe pageant, places 4th amongst the 89 countries and territories participated in the recently concluded coronation night held at the Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

During the Q&A portion, American actress Vivica A. Fox asked Supsup, "Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not?"

Supsup, the only one among the Top 5 finalists who answered the judge's question in English, said: "If I would have to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is God, who created me.I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. If the person loves me, he'll love my God, too."

Supsup was also a consistent fan favorite during the pageant. She topped the Q&A online fan votes with a ratings of 7.5 and second highest in the swimsuit and evening gown votes.

Leila Lopes from Angola is Miss Universe 2011 Winner

Miss Angola Leila Lopes (Leila Luliana da Costa Vieira Lopes) named the 60th Miss Universe titleholder in the recently concluded Miss Universe 2011 pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Born in Benguela, Angola on February 26, 1986, Lopes is a business management student in Great Britain where she was crowned Miss Angola UK on October 8, 2010 and became the official representative of the Angolan community in the United Kingdom to the 2011 Miss Angola pageant.

Lopes, who stands 1.79 m (5 ft 10.5 in) tall, competed as one of 21 finalists in her country's national beauty pageant, Miss Angola, held in Luanda on December 18, 2010. Aside from the Miss Angola crown, she also received the Miss Photogenic Award and the right to represent Angola in Miss Universe 2011 where she recently declared as the winner.

This is the first Miss Universe crown for Angola since they joined the beauty pageant in 1998.

DreamWorks Pictures has just shared Hugh Jackman’s call-out video for the Philippines, in connection with the upcoming release of “Real Steel.”

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Adult Humor of “Friends With Benefits” Intrigues Justin Timberlake

On a roll after appearing in back-to-back hits “The Social Network” and “Bad Teacher,” Justin Timberlake now stars in Columbia Pictures' casual-sex romantic comedy “Friends with Benefits” opposite Mila Kunis.

Director Will Gluck recalls catching Timberlake on "Saturday Night Live" and being wowed. "I was impressed, and then he did another 'SNL' and he was even funnier. And the reason he’s so funny is because he’s a great actor. `Friends with Benefits' is his first full-time comedic role. He can do anything. He’s so charismatic that you can’t keep your eyes off him.”

For his part, Timberlake not only loved the adult humor of `Benefits,' but was intrigued by where his and Mila's characters Dylan and Jamie are in their respective lives when the movie introduces them to us. Both are young and successful at work, but they're also circumspect about love, and struggling with family issues. “Just the things that happen to you when you get to a certain age, like my age,” says Timberlake, “where you’re sort of questioning the ‘establishment’ of what you’ve grown up with - as far as relationships are concerned - what it all means.”

The actor goes on, “Our characters meet each other in that time where they’ve both recently split up from other relationships and we’re both in that headspace where we kind of want to just be single.”

In the film, when Dylan moves to New York after Jamie recruits him for an exciting position at GQ Magazine, the two become fast friends, comrades in cynicism, ready to laugh at the world's craziness and each other's foibles.

With Timberlake’s Dylan working hard to establish himself at a new job in a new city and no time to pursue life’s more frivolous aspects, and Kunis’ Jamie meeting too many “nice” guys who turn out to be not-so-nice, the two come to an agreement asserting mutual benefits without the emotional complications of dating. ‘Cause after all, everyone has physical needs, they convince themselves. What could possibly go wrong?

Timberlake explains, “It’s about two people kind of living parallel lives. They get together and come up with this crazy plan of having the physical act of a relationship without any of the emotion. That’s really where a lot of the hilarity ensues. It’s nice to have an “R” rating for this movie because in the intimate scenes, there’s some funny things that we were able to come up with. It’s a funny dynamic when you have characters who aren’t emotionally attached in that way - or at least the don’t think they are.”

Timberlake sees a stealth aspect to the movie's fun and games. “I think the heart of this film sneaks up on you,” he concludes. “I think that that’s what will get audiences: before they know it, they’re completely invested in these characters because they’re so likeable.”

Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell are Masters of Intimidation in “Horrible Bosses”

Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell are out to make the lives of their employees miserable in New Line Cinema's dark comedy “Horrible Bosses.” Spacey stars as Dave Harken, the control-freak megalomaniac, while Farrell plays Bobby Pellit, the unconscionable heir to his father’s company.

In the film, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable for Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers...permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.

The powerful, tightly wound VP Dave Harken lords over the cramped bullpen of Comnidyne Industries where poor Nick toils alongside his fellow corporate drones in the futile hope of reward and recognition… or, at the very least, an occasional half-day off. “Harken is the master of psychological torment,” says director Seth Gordon. “We imagined a kind of sophisticated passive-aggressive sadist, the kind of power-hungry micromanager that I think any of us can recognize because he exists out there in many forms, and Kevin handles it brilliantly.”

Says Spacey, “You can’t even give him the benefit of the doubt, or think for a minute that he’s being tough in order to teach a lesson or encourage his employees to try harder and bring out their best. There are no underlying strategies that might redeem him. Harken is just a bully. He’s a terrible, terrible person.

“The horrible bosses really back these three friends into a corner and I think audiences will completely understand why they’re driven to kill us,” Spacey concedes. “Fortunately, everything they set out to do doesn’t go the way they plan in any way, shape or form. They make the worst decisions ever.”

“Meanwhile, Colin's Bobby Pellit represents the sort of corrupt and incompetent jerk who’s in charge of things but clearly has no idea what he’s doing. Of course, he will find a way to blame his inevitable failures on someone else,” says Gordon.

“Playing Pellit was all about channeling my inner douche,” laughs Farrell. “This guy thinks he’s God’s gift to women, God’s gift to intellect, to humor, to the club scene, to everything. It’s all part of his grandiose sense of self-esteem, which is probably masking a deeper sense of being a disappointment to his father and being riddled with envy over the relationship his father had with Kurt, and all kinds of other things. With Pellit, Seth gave me complete license to act as pathologically screwed up as possible.”

Farrell also contributed significantly to Pellit’s look, suggesting the comb-over and pot belly, as well as his affinity for the Chinese dragons that decorate his clothing to suggest to the world that he may have martial arts training. “Colin transformed himself so completely he’s barely recognizable,” Gordon attests. “He fully went for it. Audiences are going to see a whole different and very funny side to him.”

Andy Whitfield, Spartacus Star, Dead at 39

Andy Whitfield died today in Sydney, Australia. He was 39.

The star of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" on Starz was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma last March 2011 which prompted him to leave the show.

Whitfield's wife issued a statement, saying her husband died on a "sunny Sydney morning" in the "arms of his loving wife."

El Gamma Penumbra and Lucky Twins Make It to PGT Season 3 Grand Finals

The first and second grand finalists of the country’s number one talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” have been named in the just concluded results night.

The shadow play performance of El Gamma Penumbra from Batangas and the dancing brothers Lucky Twins from Tacloban City made it to the first cut of the talent reality competition semi-final round.

After the overnight voting, El Gamma Penumbra led the nationwide votes that automatically gave them the grand finalist slot. Judges, on the other hand, must choose whom between Lucky Twins and Seedz Band from Escalante City, Negros Occidental, who ranked 2nd and 3rd place in text votes, will also make it to the grand finals.

Judge Kris chose Seedz Band for the very reason that her ex-husband James grew up from where the band came from. Judges Ai Ai and Freddie “FMG” Garcia, meanwhile, both decided to give the grand finals slot to the Lucky Twins.

Matteo talked about how his relationship with Maja started and how the recent controversies surrounding their relationship brought about by last Sunday's incident influenced the status of their relationship now.

The athlete turned actor also narrated (his side of the story) what really happened during that early morning of Sunday that lead to a physical dispute between him and Coco.

The "My Binondo Girl" star also took the opportunity to express his regret over what happened and extend his apology to Coco, "Co, pasensya na talaga sa nangyari. It was a big, big misunderstanding. Sana hinde talaga nangyari yun. Sorry talaga sa text na naging misunderstanding. Pasensya na talaga. Sana makapag-usap na tayo at sana be friends again. And start again from zero." Matteo said.
