Typhoon Mina - PAGASA Weather Update August 26, 11 a.m.

Typhoon Mina (NANMADOL) PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletin Number 13 issued at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, 26 August 2011







At 10:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "MINA" (NANMADOL) has intensified further and seriously threatens Northern Luzon Area.



Tropical Depression "Mina" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 150 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora (16.9°N, 123.7°E ) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and Gustiness of up to 210 kph.



Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast shows that Mina is moving Northwest at 9 kph.

3-DAY WEATHER FORECAST

Saturday morning: is expected to pass along the Northern tip of Cagayan or will be at 120 km Northeast of Tuguegarao City



Sunday morning: 30 km East Southeast of Basco, Batanes



Monday morning: 210 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes





Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals, Southern Luzon and Visayas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.



Estimated rainfall amount is from 15-25 mm per hour within the 600 km diameter of the typhoon.
